- in many respects, the Primavera (c.1478-83) is a world away from Ambrogio Lorenzetti's fresco of The Well-Governed Town and Country.  Yet both are dreams, the latter more closely grown out of tyhe world of everyday humanity, the other more mysterious in its messages.
